I was thinking about adding shadows on her when I did this piece.

I thought it would only mess out the eye path of the work. Instead, I had darkened the inside of the cockpit to separate from the lightly rendered subject and darkened the background by putting lots of dark windows.

Dark foreground - light subject -Dark Background.

The coloring will take care of the volume.

...well then, get colouring!
